About this tool.
What is a robots.txt file?
A small text file at the top of your site that asks crawlers which areas to skip. It does not hide pages from people.
What is a sitemap?
A list of the pages you want search engines to find, usually an XML file your site plugin keeps up to date.
Does robots.txt remove a page from Google?
Not reliably. Use a noindex tag or remove the page. Blocking a page can even stop Google from seeing the noindex.
