Structured Data and Schema
Behind-the-scenes labels that help search engines understand your business, used where they help and left out where they do not.
Structured data, often called schema, is a set of labels added to a page so a machine can tell what it is looking at: a business with this phone number, a service with this description, a question with this answer. It is invisible to visitors and can help search engines show richer results.
It is also one of the most oversold parts of SEO. Schema supports a site that is already strong, but it does not create rankings on its own, and endless markup on a weak site is wasted effort. We use it the sensible way: accurate business, service and question markup where it helps, no spam and no checklists for their own sake. If your site already has it, we check it. If not, we add the pieces that earn their keep. We are also open about what schema cannot do. It will not outrank a competitor with better pages and better reviews, and it will not fix thin content. What it can do is remove doubt about basic facts and sometimes earn richer listings. We add it as a finishing touch on pages that already deserve to rank, and test that it matches what visitors see.
